On Wednesday night, 20.16.2018 6th Class had their fundraiser for Bingo for BUMBLEance. The children, their teacher Mr Condron and school Secretary Marion O Sullivan have been extremely ‘busy bees‘ working for the last few months preparing for this night.
Initially they decided on their chosen charity and then on what kind of fundraiser they would have. Once these decisions were made they worked as a team to appeal for sponsorship, gather spot prizes, sourced the Bingo equipment, make posters to advertise, decorate the prepare the hall, set up a tuck shop, and recruit a bingo caller. The bingo caller turned out to be Mr Carroll, who had worked in the school for a year and taught the boys & girls in 4th class.
The night was a great success – there were 10 standard bingo games and 2 extra games for mini jackpot of €250 and a jackpot of €500. Noah Cunnane in 2nd class was the winner of our jackpot prize and our very own speech & drama teacher Martina Moynihan won the mini jackpot!
Heartiest congratulations to all our winners on the night, be it on a game or in the raffle.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL our sponsors on the night from the raffle prizes to the top cash prize. In particular to Ross Oil for the mini jackpot prize and to Macroom Credit Union for our main cash prize of €500.
The fundraiser raised a staggering €4021 and the cheque was presented to BUMBLeance on Thursday morning by the children in 6th Class.
We would like to say a big Thank you to everyone for your continued support.
