A very successful and well attended AGM of the Canovee Parents Association took place on Wednesday 8th October, 2014 @8.30pm.

Both Marie O'Sullivan and Deirdre Fehily were duly re-elected as Chairperson and Treasurer and sincere thanks was given to Nuala Ryan for all her work as secretary on the committee for the past 4 years.
Patricia Delaney was then nominated, supported and elected as the new secretary.
Alot of issues were discussed and some suggestions made for fundraising throughout the school year. The free school journals were brought to the meeting and shown to the parents and they will finally be distributed to students by the staff as soon as possible.
Three fundraisers will be run over  the next few weeks, namely the recycling drive, the bag packing and the christmas market fundraiser.
RECYCLING DRIVE
This takes places twice a year and is a great fundraiser for the school, unwanted clothes, handbags, belts, shoes and boots are all accepted in refuse bags and can be dropped into the school hall during school hours, we will also open the school one evening for an hour to accept donations. The collection date is set at Wednesday 12th November.
BAG PACKING IN DUNNES STORES , Macroom.
Again another great fundraiser, parents are asked to give just 2 hours to help bag packing in our local Dunnes Stores, and this is over one weekend, Friday night and all day Saturday, a rota will be in place and once date has been confirmed by Dunnes a note will be sent. Your help with this fundraiser would be greatly appreciated.
CHRISTMAS MARKET
Date has been set for Friday 21st November in the Riverside Park Hotel, Macroom, a committee has been set up to run and organise this and all parents are asked to do is buy (or even better sell) some raffle tickets and come along on the night to support the market. It is a great social event for all parents as once set up there is very little work on the actual night. It was a great success last year and we hope to attract even more stall holders this year. If any parent is a contributor to country markets or knows anyone who would like to take a stall at this market then please contact Marion in the school office giving contact details.
