Third class girls from Canovee NS were invited to participate in a football blitz in Donoughmore. Four other schools besides Canovee also took part in the blitz these schools were Clondrohid NS, Firmount NS, Kilbonane NS and St. Lachteen’s NS. Our girls were all grest team players. We were divided into two teams by our teacher Mr Kelleher. While one team was playing the other team drove us on with loads of encouragement. We all got a chance to play two matches. We had a wonderful time and it was a great experience. We enjoyed every minute of it! Written by Cara O’ Brien
The 4th class girls indoor football blitz was a great day out. We trained hard in the school hall before the blitz. Mr. Kelleher taught us the rules of Peil Faoi Dhíon. When the day of the blitz came we were all very excited. We couldn’t wait. We got dropped to Donoughmore by our parents. We got our jerseys and got ready. We played St. Lachteens NS, Firmount NS, Kilbonane NS, Vicarstown NS and Muinefluich NS. They were all good teams. In between matches we had lunch and we all got ready to play the other teams. We got better the more we played. Mr. Kelleher was very happy with how we performed. We went back to school an told everyone how well we did. It was a great day and I hope to play football for Canovee NS again in the future. Written by Jessica Kiernan
