On Thursday the 5th of December 2019, Mrs Ahern & the Green Schools Committee held a Water Action Day!!
In the school hall the children informed us about water, its uses & how we can protect and preserve it. They also displayed all the information they have learned in their pursuit of the schools 3rd Green Flag, with photos from their trip to Gougane Bara learning about waters origins & how to preserve water, their trip to Carrigaline Water treatment plant learning all about how water is treated and recycled. They invited parents and grandparents to take part in water themed games, such as fishing, word searches and other fun games.
As well as all this, Mrs Ahern, the Green Schools Committee ably aided by the schools student council and the children in 6th class held a cake sale with the proceeds going to the Rosminian Order who work tirelessly to bring fresh water to families in third world countries. The Cake sale raised a whopping €655 so míle buíochas to all involved from providing the baking, to selling and all those who purchased !!
