Congratulations and well done to all who competed in the Scór Muskerry Final in Eire Óg, on Sunday February 17th.
The competition started at 2.30pm and went on until 9.00pm, so it was a very long day for our competitors. The school was represented in 7 categories by children from 4th to 6th classes. Both parents and teachers were extremely proud of all the children for their performances and would like to thank them for their hard work and commitment over the last few weeks. One of the judges on the day said “the standard was very high this year“.
Congratulations to Amy McCullagh who was 2nd in the Solo singing and to Roisín Collins who was 3rd in the Seán Nós competition. Only 1st in each category goes forward to represent in the County Semi Final, so unfortunately our journey ends here.
We would like to say “go raibh maith agaibh” to their coaches and trainers, Ms Doyle, Mr. Condron, Mr. Creedon and Deirdre O Sullivan, but a particular go raibh mile maith agat has to go to Mrs O’ Brien who auditioned and then coached each group everyday, coordinated uniforms and sourced outfits / accessories, tied up hair, straighten ties and encouraged each child along the way, not to mention organising all the paperwork which goes with each event.
